Today was the day!

We had our little Noah today!  I remembered the camera.  I remembered the computer.  I forgot the camera cord, so no pictures to share yet, but soon!

You guys weren't kidding when you told me it was easier the second time around.  It was a breeze in comparison!  It helped that he was a pound smaller than our first :)  Although I can't say it's going to be as easy getting Sam adjusted to the idea of having a little brother.  He's onlly 16 months so he doesn't understand why he can't play with this new little toy.  It's going to be a challenge!

I'm going to cancel Idea Sharing Wednesday this week, but it will be back next week!  And I promise to get some pictures up pretty soon.

Guest Blogger: Handbag Tutorial

Don't forget to enter the Yellow Plum Blossoms giveaway to win your choice of gorgeous ruffle bag!  A $68 value!

I'm happy to introduce April from Love All Things Vintage as my guest blogger today.  April has a fun blog, I really hope you'll all go check it out!  And just wait until you see the cute bag she is showing us today.

**************

Hi there, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is April, and you can find me over at LovesAllThingsVintage. I'm new to the blogging world but not at being creative! I like to try anything new, and I love working with my hands. Sewing and gardening are a few of my passions but I've always enjoyed old things....Vintage to be exact. I collect all kinds of stuff, most of what others consider junk, and I bring it back to life in my home. I am born and raised a country gal and have always been at heart. Being outside soaking up the sun with my hands in the dirt, or making things whether it be in the garden or in the home is what keeps me happy. Today I'm going to show you how to make your very own Blossom Handbag by Amy Butler(I've linked up the PDF file for you to print off the pattern pieces), so get ready....

First things first This is what you will need...

Scissors, a pencil, and a tape measure....

Along with your trusty straight pins.

You'll have to cut out the pattern pieces according to the directions...

Iron on the interfacing over the Peltex to secure it in place. Trim the necessary off.

Attach the magnetic closure button (those are really easy and you can find them at any craft store). Then pin the handle brackets on.

....just keep sewing sewing sewing....

Here is everything I cut out for the exterior, they are all ready to become one piece!

Here I am pinning the interior lining of the bag together....getting it ready to sew.

I've attached the divider panels to the interior lining....looking good so far...

Everything is attached....

And I'm all done! I've made a lot of handbags in my day, but this one takes the cake for being the most difficult. I will admit, all the hard work paid off though, because I absolutely love it and I know you will too :)

Happy Sewing everyone!

Giveaway with Yellow Plum Blossoms

Have you checked out Yellow Plum Blossoms yet?  If you haven't you are seriously missing out!  Jennie has the cutest, and I mean CUTEST little treasures in her shop!

Check out this ruffle butt onesie and burp cloth gift set.  Couldn't be any cuter, right?  This is the gift you get for someone if you want everyone to oooooo and awww over it :)  If I was having a girl this would be my favorite gift at my shower for sure!

Look at this sweet minky blanket!  I look at this and I know it would be the favorite blanket of any little one!  The one she would carry around with her everywhere.  Such a special gift.  Another thing that impresses me about Yellow Plum Blossoms is the quality!  Look at that stitching, that is perfect, expert stitching worthy of being sold in retail stores.  You don't always find that on etsy!

Don't worry, she's got tons of cute stuff for the little guys too.  Look how precious this minky blanket is.  I could honestly base my whole nursery around this sweet blanket!

Bottom line: If you are expecting, have a little one, or going to a baby shower anytime soon you must check out Yellow Plum Blossoms!

You can find all your baby essentials there. . . and some things for older kids and yourself too!

Burpies, onesies, diaper bags, bibs, gift sets, crayon rolls, aprons, totes, and more!

Plus Jennie is as sweet as they come!  I would purchase everyting in her shop just based on that!  It has been such a joy having Yellow Plum Blossoms as a sponsor.

So go check out her amazing shop and show her some Women Who Do It All love!!!

Okay are you dying to see what you could win?

One lucky Women Who Do It All reader will win one of Jennie's gorgeous ruffle bags (you choose which one!)

These may actually be my favorite items in her shop.  I drool over them every time I see them.  They are the perfect diaper bag for stylish Mommy's, but they also work great as an everyday tote for work, church, school, laptop, you name it!

Here's my personal favorite (although it was a tough pick!)  If I was having a girl I seriously would have bought this bag already to use as a diaper bag!  I L-O-V-E it!

I also want to send a big thank you to Marcy at Life's Gristle for awarding me the stylish blogger award!  Marcy is so sweet.  I really enjoy her blog.  If you haven't checked it out yet, go do it!  She's got yummy recipes, fun giveaways and lots more going on over there.

Butterfly Garland

Can I blame my spaciness on pregnancy?  Apparently I published this half finished.  Well it now includes a picture and link to the tutorial :)

How cute is this butterfly garland?  I love that it's so dainty.  Sometimes I wish I could have multiple garlands on my mantel, but of course that won't work :)  Find the tutorial at Running with Glitter.

Thank you all for your sweet comments on my last post!  No baby yet, but it helps to read your comments and know many of you can relate!  And getting some reassuring words always make me smile!  Hope you are all having a beautiful Sunday!  It's pouring here, but I do live in Washington so that's the price we pay for all the pretty trees and moderate temperatures.

"Paper Bag Skirt" and a "Me Update"

I found this adorable skirt tutorial over at Homestitched.  Don't you love it?  Makes me wish I was having a girl. . .

And speaking of the little squirt, here's a brief update:  I had a doctor's appointment today and apparently could have this little guy anytime.  Now we all know that has the potential to mean nothing, lol.  But just in case, I will probably be resting as much as possible and therefore posting a little less.  Probably still once a day though.  If a day goes by that I don't post, send a prayer my way because I'm probably in labor :)

Is it just me, or is it a little scarier the second time around because you actually know how hard it's going to be?

Could be another week and a half though, who knows.

Anyways, Happy Saturday!!!

The Weekend Splurge

So you know how I keep posting desserts, more specifically cupcakes?  I figured I may as well make a weekly post out of it.  So this is my newest tradition.  The weekend splurge :)  I'll just post a few delicious finds from the week.  After a week of being good (or not) we all deserve a little splurge, right?

Snickers Cupcakes at Mama Schell Says

Mickey and Minnie Cupcakes at Honey Scrap (so cute!)

Sweet, Simple, Mini Book

Is it just, me, or is would this mini book make a great friend gift?  It looks pretty simple to make and the theme ideas are endless.  I think it's a sweet little idea!  Find the tutorial at Sandy's Space.

Snuggly Owl

This is pretty much the cutest stuffed animal I've ever seen!  It was posted several months ago by the amazing Ashley at Make It and Love It, but in case you missed it like me, I thought I would feature it.  Find the tutorial and pattern here.  Most of you probably already follow Ashley, but if not, brace yourself.  She is pretty awesome.  I can't say I know her personally but she is constantly coming out with amazing new tutorials.  I don't know how she does it all!

With all my daydreaming about re-doing my son's nursery, I can see a few of these in there for sure!  Speaking of my son, the poor little guy has had the flu for two days now.  When it rains it pours, huh?  I hope he's feeling better soon, it's so sad to see them sick, isn't it?!

Idea Sharing Wednesday #26

Hello all!  It's Wednesday again.  The weeks go by so fast, don't they?  I can't wait to see what you've been up to this week.  I'm sorry I didn't get around to everyone last week, my darn sinus infection was kicking my butt.  I'm feeling much better not though so unless I go into labor this week :) I'll be around to check out all your projects for sure!

Indulge With Me

I saw this on my friend Brittany's blog {here} and thought it was a fun idea.  It's a linky party that The Undomestic Momma has every Tuesday where you post your favorite two dream rooms.

Sometimes it's fun to entertain fantasies, right?  Like what your house would like like if you had unlimited funds.  Well it ended up being harder than I thought it would be.  I couldn't seem to find any perfect rooms.  Am I picky or what?!  It was fun looking at beautiful rooms though, and here are a couple that I loved.

Gorgeous Pottery Barn Living Room

And a precious matching nursery for my soon to be two little guys.  Also from Pottery Barn.

Simple Blouse Tutorial

I love this chic blouse (especially under the cardigan!) over at Made it on Monday!  The only time I attempted to make my own shirt it was a big disaster.  BUT that was mostly due to sewing in the sleeves, which is just not my forte.  This one looks doable.  Much more simple.  What do you think?

Light Scoop Giveaway Winner

Thanks to everyone who entered my Light Scoop giveaway!  The lucky winner is Mandy from Life with Natalie.  Congrats Mandy!  Email me at womenwhodoitall@gmail.com with your mailing address.

Don't you just love Pottery Barn knock offs?!

I think I speak for all of us when I say Pottery Barn knock offs are the best!  Why?  Because it means you successfully saved a lot of moola!  Sarah over at Teuful Hunden Farms did a pretty dang good job replicating a cute PB canvas.

Inspiration:

Creation:

So cute, huh?  I'm no artist but I think if I tried to replicate something exactly I might be able to pull it off.  You of course sketch it out with a pencil first.  It will be so cute to see all four together, but even the one by itself looks good.  Perfect for Spring!

Thanks to everyone who linked up yesterday!  I'm excited because we're getting closer to 100 entries each week.  Looking forward to the day we pass my record from my pre-blog-hiatus days (which was close to 200).  I'll be stopping by to check them all out soon.  I've got a little cold so it's slowing me down a bit.  Hope you're all having a fabulous Thursday!
